I find my washer to do a very good job, plus I use bleach occassionally and probably ESPECIALLY if I was washing other things with the diapers. It's all getting clean. So I don't see a problem with it.
I have been asked this too.... In our case no, I had some extra's and so loved they way they work in the kitchen I ordered more. That doesn't mean that it didn't cross my mind after my last potty learned that I had some in good condition to replace the worn out ones!

I don't wash anything else with my diapers but cloth wipes. I have a full load so no room for anything else anyway but even if I had room in the washer, I wouldn't add anything not diaper related with my diapers.

Re: throwing other laundry in the diaper load...gross or ok?

I wash them separately if it's just a normal hot laundry load. I have washed them together if I was adding bleach or using the sanitize cycle. DH would rather I didn't wash them together at all, but so long as I'm sanitizing them as part of the wash it doesn't bother me.

I'll add things like dirty bibs, crib sheets or towels to the diapers after the presoak/rinse. Only because diapers and towels are the only things washed on hot in my house. I use her wipes on her hands and face, too so I am confident in their cleanliness. If I thought it was "dirty" to wash other stuff with diapers, I would question whether my diapers are clean or not.

I've put dish rags, bibs, etc. In with diapers. I really don't have a problem with it. Sometimes I'll wait until the prewash is done, just so the majority of the yuck is out.

Ok by me! I wash my kitchen stuff on the same cycle, so they get thrown in to supplement the load.

Ok to me. I do it occasionally. Kitchen towels or a tiny load of kid clothes that have gotten really messy.

Re: throwing other laundry in the diaper load...gross or ok?

My diaper loads are a full load right now, but when we had just a few toddler diapers while PTing, then I would do diapers and towels together.

I would do the pre-wash with just the diapers and then add towels and bleach.

We've bed potty-training dd on and off (trying, but she is stubborn). Some days, she says she wants big girl panties, but she fights going to the potty. So, if we have any potty accidents, her clothes go into diaper laundry. Anything else that really needs bleach and a sanitize cycle can go in as well. I figure that my diaper laundry is probably the cleanest laundry in the house, since it gets rinsed, then washed with detergent and bleach on the sanitize cycle, then through a cycle with just ecover... Any germs that survive that probably deserve to live.

I don't have an issue with it but DH prob would. He's also in charge of all the non-diaper laundry in the house so we don't mix laundry.
