My fathers world

My church is starting a school for next year, and depending on $, I'm considering putting my son, who will be in k, there next year. They will be using My Father's World with Singapore and Saxon math for k-8.... what can you tell me about these curriculums?

my ds is pretty smart. He tested beyond all the end of year pre-k assessments at the beginning of the year, and he's well on his way to reading independently. he missed the kinder cut off this year by a month, but I think the extra year was good for him maturity wise. He is very wiggly, his dad and I both have adhd, so it wouldnt surprise me if that was brought up later on in school.

Re: My fathers world

Hi Heather! I've missed you. I'll follow you with my typical

We also use MFW and LOVE it. If you son is advanced in reading the k portion of that will probably be easy for him. But it has lots of other good stuff, like the Bible part is awesome and the science is fun.... In a small private school the teacher could probably just challenge him a bit extra in reading and it would be fine.

As for the math, we aren't starting Singapore until next year. (2nd grade) MFW k and first comes with math but a lot of it is hands-on so I'm guessing it would be hard to implement in a classroom setting. I do like the looks of Singapore though and it is a strong program.
