Green smoothies

What goes into yours?

I'm brand new to it but shocked at how delicious mine come out.

Brewers yeast, oats, flax, frozen banana, oj, almond milk, and any veggies I have on hand! It's also good for milk supply.

Re: Green smoothies

Those that use bananas - how do you freeze them so they are easy to store but also easy to grab one at a time? We always run out of bananas and I'd like to buy a bushel and deep freeze 'em.

I peel them first and freeze in a large ziplock bag.

Re: Green smoothies

I put flax seed in mine yesterday and it made my smoothie so unpalatable.

Did you use whole seeds or flax seed meal? You really need a high-speed blender like a Vitamix or Blendtec to get the seeds pureed.

You could try hemp seed instead, it is softer and has a nuttier flavor.

Blueberries and raspberries are good for disguising the grainy texture of various seeds.
