Re: Physical traits

From me, not really. I wish YDD didn't have the sensitive skin she got from me. All 3 have very slight allergies, which came from me, except I have terrible allergies, so their slight ones make me thankful they didn't get my awful allergies. I do wish, however, that they didn't get DH's eyesight. His prescription is something like, -12 and -14. Mine are right at -.5, so huge difference. ODD is at almost -6 and -7, so she's on the road to DH's eyesight. DS's eyes aren't quite so bad yet, but they are bad enough he needs glasses fulltime.

Oh, just thought of one. DS has dry skin and dry sinuses like I do. I wish he didn't. His nose bleeds are terrible, though they have gotten better as he's gotten older, like mine have.

Hah my dd got this from my husband! And his widows peak and bushy eyebrows. But she got a lot of his good features too.

From me, well, I've always disliked my chin and button nose. It's still a little too soon to tell if she has mine, but I dread it for her sake.

I have a feeling ds1 will get my acne. Everything else he got from me I am happy about.

Re: Physical traits

Nope, you can't even tell by looking that they could possibly even be my children. They are carbon copies of their dad.

Re: Physical traits

DS got my glow-in-the-dark skin, he might just be the world's whitest kid.

Not a physical trait, but DD got my temper.

Re: Physical traits

DD is almost a perfect copy of me appearance wise. She has my thick eyebrows. She has my horrible recessed and crooked jaw structure and will need major dental work later (poor girl can't chew or swallow right). However, she got DH's small teeth! DS has my big teeth and DH's "normal" jaw so he'll likely not need dental work. DD also has my KP and both dyshidrosis and dermatitis eczema. The other not so good trait that DD got is from DH - his big wide hobbit feet! DS has my digestive problems, allergies including urticaria, and eczema. DS looks a lot like me, but sometimes looks like DH.

I'm glad DS got my hands and feet. He's going to have the prettiest nails of all the boys

Both of my children have good, fine features and any physical resemblance they have to me is to their benefit. But they have a dominant "mutant" trait (I say mutant to tease my husband) from Nick. Their pinkie fingers curve inward. It's very noticeable to me, and it may hinder playing some musical instruments professionally, but they could possibly go their whole lives without anyone noticing.

They certainly won't be hand models.

Re: Physical traits

DD has my long torso. Makes clothes uber hard to fit. For instance, right now her shoulders are 3T, but 3T shirts are midriffs. So, you go to 4T and it looks like she's wearing clothes that are too big for her.

It's a small thing in the grand scheme.. but I hated not being able to find clothes that fit right. I still do hate it, actually.

and she'll be stuck wearing empire waist dresses and such.. so little choice when your hips are so far down from your shoulders.

I have that! I got it from my mum, and my grandpa, and when I found my daughter had it too, I was properly delighted .

Also, I think it helped me when I played the flute, I had a better purchase on the keys at the bottom of the instrument .

ETA:
My daughter will have poor eyesight from both my genes and her dad's. I was so embarrassed and ashamed of wearing glasses when I was little, even though when I see littles in glasses now, each child is heartbreakingly precious. I love my glasses now, and I hope when the time comes for Jam to get her own pair she'll wear them with more confidence and pride than I did.
