How is your fridge organized?

Top shelf - milks, large box of eggs (for dogs, they consume 6/day)
Second shelf - Beer
Third shelf - Eggs for us, random jars, pasta sauce, yeast, figs, yogurt tubs, pickles.
Cheese drawer with bunches of cheese - sliced, grated, chunks, string. Lunch meat if I buy it.
Fourth shelf - Bags of salad, spinach, or occasionally thawing meat.
Then fruit and veggie drawers.
Door - Butter on top, then mostly condiments, salad dressing, mayo, jelly, ketchup.

I've spent some time lately removing each shelf, washing it thoroughly, and replacing it. Amazing how nice my fridge looks, and it makes me smile to open it! Same with my microwave, I gave it a thorough scrub last week, it needed it, and now it makes me smile.

Re: How is your fridge organized?

Currently, the entire bottom shelf has gallons of milk. They were on sale for $1.79 a gallon, super fab deal, so I stocked up. There are 8 gallons there and that's all that fits. There is also a jar full of fresh cut pineapple, a bag of salad that wouldn't fit anywhere else, and a couple of yogurt cups. Those are all stuffed to the side, because the 8 gallons doesn't quite fill it side to side.

The shelf above that has a drawer shoved in it on the side. That has lunch meat, cheeses and tortillas. Next to that, it currently has 5 dozen eggs, and then a bunch more yogurt cups, and 2 boxes of butter/margarine sticks.

On the third and top shelf, there are 5 large pickle jars (great sale and coupon for claussens,) about 10 or so bags of shredded cheese (99c a kroger!!!) a large tub of ham, a bag of celery, a head of cauliflower, a covered bowl with a head of lettuce, a cover bowl of a cut up cantaloup, a bag with 3 tomatoes, a bag of 3lbs of grapes, some more yogurt cups, 2 zucchini, 3 cucumbers 3 bags of baby carrots, and a tub of butter

The fruit drawer on the bottom has 2lbs of strawberries, a 3lb bag of oranges and half a 5lb bag of apples. The veggie drawer has 2 bags of salad, 3 more bags of baby carrots, 2 green peppers, and one more zucchini.

The door has another dozen eggs in it's egg holder, and a bunch of jars, glass and plastic. There's jelly, mayo, mustard, ketchup, coffee creamer, bbq sauce, chili sauce, cocktail sauce, etc etc.

Our fridge is WAY too small for us, and is stacked FULL to bursting. Most of that we will eat ALL of this week. When I go grocery shopping on Sundays, I usually end up have to clean it out and organize it just to get everything in.

Re: How is your fridge organized?

Sure, let me go finish off that second shelf, and I'll get pics up . To be honest, I haven't finished cleaning out/off every shelf. There are a few I'm waiting on to use up more of the stuff on them.

What kind of basket do you use, Serena? I bought cheap Walmart plastic baskets to use in our other apartment's fridge, I think to store cheeses and small yogurt tubs and lunch meat bags. It isn't exactly pretty but works fine.

Ours is small. I wish I ha a big fridge like it sounds like you do.

Shelves - only 2. Top: Keeps leftovers, bacon grease and anything DS can grab for an easy snack.

Bottom: eggs, veggies such as cucumbers, celery and carrots. And condiments that don't fit in the door.

Below that is milk and currently beer.

Door is condiments, water and coke when we have it. (Currently no coke)

2 tiny basket type drawers. Left is cheese and yogurt. Right is normally empty unless I have tons of cheese or yogurt the. We separate those two.

I don't keep much food on hand lately.

Re: How is your fridge organized?

Ours has yogurt and randoms on the top, eggs on the left middle shelf, lunchmeat for dp and cheese in the middle drawer, milk and water on the bottom shelf, raw meet on the bottom shelf under the drawer, vegetables in left bottom drawer, fruit in right bottom drawer.

It is not so minimalist =(

Re: How is your fridge organized?

I try to do that nice cleaning every couple of weeks, nothing I love more than shiny clean appliances inside and out.
