Re: One of our members needs help..

Aloha all! I had a few moments and wanted to post and thank everyone for their thoughts.

Every day brings with it both progress and challenges. We just began trying to see if he has any respiratory drive left, in the hopes of being able to dial down the ventilator just a bit. He had a trach for breathing and a peg tube for feeding put in yesterday and seems to be tolerating them. He has a temporary pacemaker and is still on meds for his blood pressure so weaning him off of those is a criteria for his transfer to Atlanta.

In the meantime, we are all in Florence making sure at least one of us, but usually two, is with him at all times. Now that he is a bit more coherent, we are facing the challenges of him wanting to know what his recovery will be like, paralysis etc. We have had a great outpouring of local support and are in the process of creating a non-profit with immediate goals for his transfer and recovery but also to help anyone who does these races and finds themselves in this situation.

Please share the link if you can. Facebook, Twitter, email, it all helps. http://forchuckstorm.org. The GoFundMe site is where we post the updates and my Facebook page

Thank you so much Jen for posting and helping! Thanks everyone for your support, positive thoughts and prayers.

These races are no joke. I know so many who sign up for them. They are dangerous!

My husband does obstacle courses for work and just the other day someone fell 30 feet from the cargo net and broke his back. For WORK. Idk how I feel about them in races. It's a crazy price to pay. Races, people are moving way too fast for the net and slipping is common when going super fast. So let's put them all in competitive mode so they try to go even faster! Grrr! I wish they would take it away from these races!

I am praying for her brother!!!! I am devastated for him!
