House guests and toiletries

Do you expect guests in your home to bring their own toiletries (mainly shampoo, conditioner and soap)? Provide them with trial sizes to use? Let them use yours? Do you bring your own when you visit someone's house?

Obviously the comfort level of sharing depends on the relationship with the visitor, but is there a "standard"?

Re: House guests and toiletries

Guests are welcome to use our toiletries. Sometimes they bring their own, sometimes not. Sometimes I put out little travel sized ones for them with their towels but they never get used.

I just saw on pinterest an idea to save all of the toiletries from hotels, and put them in a glass jar to leave out for guests.

Guests are welcome to use our stuff. I never take my own when staying at anyone's house (unless I want to bring something I don't believe they have). If I wasn't comfortable enough with someone to use their toothpaste or shampoo I would never be their house guest to begin with. When I share a vacation condo with friends or family we usually talk in advance & split up which toiletries & hair appliances to bring. Then we share it all. It's nice to not have to pack all of that junk.

Guests are welcome to use ours or bring their own. I usually have a container of ones from hotels if needed.

The only overnight guests we have is usually my mom and occasionally my grandma. Everyone else (dh's family) chooses to stay in a hotel.

Guests are welcome to use what we have. My mom was the only person who used our downstairs bathroom for the longest time so she stocked with what she likes. Now we just replenish if we notice it getting low.

It depends on who we're visiting whether I bring toiletries or not for us.

Guests can use whatever they like. I do usually take my own stuff only because I wash that gray right outta my hair and use color treated shampoo.

Yup this is what we do. Except we have never been to a vacation condo. Sounds like fun.

Re: House guests and toiletries

Now I don't share toothbrushes. LOL We do at times have extra in packages though.

Now my neice and nephew and toddler have different ideas on toothbrushes. I have caught them swapping them.
