Re: Do you have a carseat? What is it?

We are going to use our Snugride 35 that we bought 3 yrs ago for #4. My babies are around 8lbs @ birth, but grow FAST. This seat lasts us a little over a year. I love it.

Re: Do you have a carseat? What is it?

I haven't seen a pic of a newborn in a Radian, and that is one thing stopping me -- it doesn't look like a seat for a baby but for toddler...where can I see pics?

This is the thread I had started, there's a few pics here.

And I can't seem to find any other ones right now

Yeah, it won't last very long, but it's the only seat that would work (though the Cybex Aton may have worked as well but I'd rather have a convertible). We had a Roundabout 40 with DD1, which is about the same size, and it was worth it to have a compact convertible in a small car for as long as we could. Aaand, she actually fit in the Roundabout from birth...she was ALL torso and a big baby!

The lowest strap position is very low on the Radian, and the infant padding makes it perfect for a newborn. The only thing is it takes a lot of room front to back to get it at a 45 degree angle.

Re: Do you have a carseat? What is it?

We do have a minivan, but I am wanting something smaller since my husband is tall and the baby will be behind the driver's seat, so that may nix it right there. I did see pics, though.

I've heard good things about the roundabout for newbies, but the marathon and the other britax ones seem to be questionable.

Re: Do you have a carseat? What is it?

I can't imagine a newborn in my Marathon or MyRide they are huge! I know the marathon say you 'can' use it from 5lbs+ but wow. I my KeyFit for a newborn, but DS outgrew in my height when he was 7 months. The way this kid feels it may out grow it in 3mo

When this baby is ready to transfer to a convertible I will get DS a Boulevard (probably) and let baby have his Marathon. Both kids will have MyRides for the sitter and DHs car.

I agree about the marathons, although I haven't seen many newbies in the new ones with the insert. But the MyRide, with the infant inserts, snuggles newbies like a dream!
