I think the best feeling is looking at that list and realizing we do not have those things or those things are already gone.

I love the fact that I look at that list and they say minimilize tvs and I am like woohoo did that I only have one! Hope to keep it that way for a very looooong time!

I like his blog. But I can totally "minimize" that list.

List of things that can be reduced in your home: EVERYTHING.

Buwahaha!

Interesting. Although I agree with a lot some seems kinda silly to me. If you drink or eat something why on earth would you proceed in getting rid of it only to rebuy it the next time you want it.

This reminds me of my husband. After I went grocery shopping last, the pantry was full, and he said, "Looks like we better do some 'purging'". He he, it's his favorite area to 'purge' and he really helps out

Re: List of things that can be reduced in your home.

Do people really have excessive amounts of suitcases? We have only one set we use frequently.

80.Empty cardboard boxes-This one really confuses me. I have never been to anyones house and found extra cardboard boxes unless they were moving.

75.Brooms-How many brooms do most people have that they have extras to purge? I have only kept 2. One for public areas and the kitchen and one for the bathroom.

57.Mirrors-At one point my husband complained because we didn't have any mirrors. He got really good at shaving without one.

32 of the things on the list we do not own at all. Many other things we own only one of like a phone book. I always toss the previous years phone book and any ones from companies we don't like.

Guilty of both.

Suitcases b/c the IL's gave us a set with a bunch of pieces, and DH and I each had 1-2 suitcases before that. Feel bad getting rid of the set from the IL's but this reminds me that they're only taking up room and have to go.

Boxes were from our professional move. They're too nice to recycle. We used to move every 2 yrs or so, so we got used to hoarding boxes. Now we're in a house we own, so it's unlikely we'll move in the near future. We have the room though (and they're broken down flat), so we'll probably keep them (just in case? I know, it makes no sense).

I'm going to have to agree with Alaga. I think for most people, the list is a pretty good place to start. We also have suitcases and boxes. (Although the extra suitcases are going this weekend, and we're using the boxes for our upcoming move).
