best tasting fake cheese ever..I can enjoy a GF pizza with melted "cheese". I also order coconut milk in bulk from azure and also coconut yogurt as well..they have the best prices for both. I mostly just wing it but I do need to sit down and do a menu..my budget has kind of creeped up with all of the new foods.
Thanks for the Azure ideas Mama!...I order from them each month and I love to hear of items that people buy and like Also, I love your recommendation of the Daiya cheese!!..can't wait to try it from Azure!!...I have been missing cheese the most since going gluten and diary free! I have still been eating a little bit of goat cheese...but it's just not always enough...
Which coconut yogurt have you found to like? I have tried just a couple and wasn't too impressed... but give me your thoughts! We have loved the Edison gluten free quick oats from Azure... we all enjoy oatmeal in the morning
Also, the Veganaise "mayo" is awesome in pasta salads.
If you think of other great items from Azure...please share with me... I love the ideas.

Happy to come and say that Aubryn has now outgrown her gluten sensitivity, although I think I'll periodically try to clean it out of my system so it doesn't build up. Message me if you might be intetested in a trade for some of the gluten free items I stocked up on that I don't think I'll be using now.

I made the decision this morning to try out a gluten free diet. My son days his tummy hurts pretty often and this morning they both felt bad and my daughter is constipated. So I'm starting with them now, but I'm kinda clueless.

We eat alot of rice, and i mean alot! We have it 1-2 meals a day. We do lots of rice with meat and gravy and green veggies. Salads, i make rice flour blueberry muffins or put in enjoy life chocolate chips for a treat. We have been gf/cf for a long time and most snacks now just consist of nuts or fruits and veggies. When you first switch over it helps to buy some of the boxed mixes to feel a litttle less stressed so we like are cherrybrook farm sugar cookies, food for life brown rice bread, almond milk ice cream, king arthur flour pizza dough (we use diaya cheese).

Another dessert favorite is fruit cobblers, frozen fruit mixed with some sugar and instant tapioca, top with rice flour that has been crumbled with some sugar and earth balance soy free spread, bake for an hour and you have a nice dessert

Thanks for the ideas Mama...we also eat a lot of rice I do think it's going to get easier and easier once we find our tried and true recipes and it doesn't require SO much thought and prep for every meal!
Do you have an actual recipe/amounts/etc for your fruit cobbler? It sounds like something we would love around here Thank you!

Re: Gluten/Diary Free Recipe Thread...Should We Start One?

Thanks for this thread ladies! I'm trying wf/gf for my headaches, and it seems to help. But my sweet tooth misses my homemade baked goods and homemade bread!!!! Thanks for the links and ideas. I too bought a few gf mixes to help adjust and to see if gf worked before i purchased all the different flours. King arthur brand had a good muffin mix that I added fresh strawberries to...yum! And I thought BRM bread mix was pretty good too, WAY better than the as-close-to-edible-cardboard-as-you-can-get tapioca and white rice bread loaves.
Mainly since I have a tight food budget I have been trying to cut way back on baked and specialty goods and eat just food that naturally is gf.
PS. Thanks for the pancake recipe, and the mixed flour recipe! I tried the banana/egg pancakes, and we did NOT like those sorry!
