First attempt at a bunny

I was saving this upcycled wool for a soaker, but I have since given up on wool for diapering, so I decided to turn it into a bunny for Easter.

I not sure if I love how this guy looks, maybe I'm not a bunny person? I didn't have a pattern so I don't have much to compare him to. Either way it was fun, and I think my son will like it for the sheer challenge of carrying him arround... I filled him with dried moong beans, and used almost the entire 2 pound bag!

***********update***************

At 1am I figured out how to make the ears stick up! I managed to do it without ever taking the bunny out of the Easter basket too.

Thanks ladies! This has been an ongoing experiment. Tonight I realized that I need to turn the ears facing forward now that they stick up. I'll post a photo of the whenever I do it.

Getting them to stick up made me realize I may have missed my calling as a surgeon. I cut a tiny slit in the bottom of each ear, carefully inserted a seem ripper and poked a hole through from the inside of the ear to the head, then inserted a straight zip-tie through the holes--one end stuck in the head, the other going through the inside of the ear to the top. Then sealed it with the hot glue gun. Ad of course the bunny was still firmly jammed inside the grass-filled basket while I did all this.
