Can someone tell me what I'm looking for?

I looooooooove my Moby wrap. Right now it's the only carrier I own. I've had others from Target that I did not like at all and a ring sling that did not fit well. I really want/need another carrier, but I'm not well-versed on what's out there, so I need the experts to chime in!

So...
DS is 4mo old.
I love the personalized fit of the Moby.
I want something quicker to put on.
I like the idea of a ring sling but how do I find a good fit?
Would a RS even work for a 4mo old?
I do not want something that is super structured.
For my sanity I need something that can be cleaned/washed normally - no special wash instructions!
I do not need any specific prints/colors, as long as there's an option that's GN, I'm good
Reasonably priced is a must.

I would really appreciate any recommendations!

Can you explain what you mean when you say your ring sling doesn't fit? Are you having trouble adjusting it? What kind of ring sling do you have?

The ring sling that I had was made by a mom I knew. I no longer have it, I passed it along hoping it might work better for someone else! I could not get it to stay on my shoulder and it would dig into me. Also, I did have trouble adjusting it and feeling like I had a secure fit. I like the idea of them, but especially for a little one, I need a snug and secure fit!

Re: Can someone tell me what I'm looking for?

Then I'd suggest either a ring sling or a mei tai. Both would be fine for a 4 month old. Of the two, ring slings are more unstructured, but the trade-off is that all of the baby's weight is on one shoulder.
If you want to try another ring sling, I'd suggest going with an unpadded ring sling from a reputable maker. Unpadded slings are just as comfortable as padded, and they are easier to adjust. Some good brands are Sleeping Baby Productions, Maya wrap, TaylorMade, SweetPea, Comfy Joey, and Sakura Bloom. Sizing doesn't have to be super-precise, according to the charts I would use a size small, but I can do just fine with an xsmall or a medium (or even a large, although the tail is super long so I wrap it around the rings). You achieve a good fit by how you tighten and adjust the sling, not by purchasing the right size. Here's a good video to show how you adjust the sling to support the baby:
I'd also suggest checking into whether there is a babywearing group near you. They usually have a bunch of carriers you can try out, and would be able to help you learn to use whatever carrier you end up with.

I LOVE my mei tai! I have a babyhawk and can tote around my one year old for quite a while, no problem. I really like the fact that I can switch up the ties and relieve the pressure with him in the carrier if my shoulders start to hurt after a while.

See if there's a BWI group near you. Our local chapter has a whole library you can rent from. Just have to pay the yearly dues. Also, our local baby store has a sample of each carrier they sell for us to try. I went to their babywearing class and tried my Boba wrap out first with my DD.
