Re: When to take them in for a cough

Half of my school has this. Everyone got sick, you know the normal seasonal sickness going around, and then they come back but the cough lasts for.ev.er. If there a nothing else worrisome, I wouldn't take my kids in. My youngest son had it for about 3 months...but it was just like you described, not really bad {didn't cough often, he didn't seem bothered by it at all when he did cough}, but it sounded bad, and it acted up at bedtime. After a couple of months I started to worry, but then everyone started getting sick around here and had that same forever cough, so I felt less concerned and then it went away.

Re: When to take them in for a cough

My husband is taking her to the doctor this afternoon (thankfully in Canada I don't have to worry about having to pay to take her in for things I'm not sure about). I'll update what they say what it is (if my husband remembers this time, lol). I have heard many other people mention about this lingering cough too so it's probably just that. Come on warm weather, we need you.

Re: When to take them in for a cough - Update

My 4 year old just went through this. I feel so bad that we waited to take him in because he seemed fine otherwise, just this nagging cough that seemed to come and go randomly. Turns out he has allergies. Now he's on Zyrtec and doing ten times better.
