The ticking time bomb...

Dear friends,

please stop asking when I'll have this baby. I'm not due until Monday. And did you know it's okay to have a baby a few days past that?! Imagine that! I knw everyone in today's society schedules these things, but I'm old school and want to let baby decide to come. He's comfy in there, even if I'm uncomfy. I imagine he'll be here within a week or so.

And yes, he'll probably be big. That's okay too. Not everyone can have teeny babies... Though, did you know under 10lbs is still considered average?

Also, it's not polite to comment on how huge a pregnant lady is...

Love,

Me

Yup. I'm not due until the 14th, but everyone has been saying "haven't had that baby yet?" since 35-36 weeks. Driving me rather crazy.

Agreed. Everyday I walk into work they seem shocked. I feel like a time bomb.

Re: The ticking time bomb...

Ugh. DH wants to go to church this morning. Normally I'd be fine with that, but because we missed last week I know there will be a bunch of people making comments. I don't think I can handle all that today.

I remember with DD, I was working out of town, about an hour away from home, living in a hotel. Anyways, I told them at one point that I had a dr appt, but I guess they forgot. So I leave early for that one day and show up late the next and when I walk in, everyone's like 'oh we thought you were in labor!'. I think I was like ... I dunno... 34 weeks at the most? Lol

Now I've reached the point where I have to attend all the normal things with DD or people think I'm having a baby. I was late to Tot Time on Friday and everyone was all 'oh! We figured you were having a baby'. It seems to blow everyone's mind that I've gone the whole 40 now.

But... In their defense, it sure SEEMS like most women have their babies early. The other 3 preggos that I know IRL that were due March/April have all had their babies at 38/39 weeks... Including the one due after me.

Hope people calm down quickly for you! Or that you can think of a really witty retort

Hehe - I'm actually looking forward to that. I love being able to respond to 'when are you due' with things like 'today!'. Haha!

People really look at you like you're a ticking time bomb then. Fun times.

I hope it's not too bad for you if you go though.

That is true. But not for me!

It's not that they mean anything with their comments, I know that. But I'm tired of hearing that I'm so big and so low and can't possible go another week - I get it. I'm pregnant and huge. Thanks for reminding me.
That probably wouldn't be the best response, I suppose.
