Ideal water temperature?

Okay I'm about 7 months into this cd thing and I thought I had things down. But now I got a new front loading washing machine so I have some questions.

Mostly I use FB and microterry or hemp (little*lambs) inserts. Occasionally I throw in a prefold or two.

My question is, can you wash in too hot of water? My washer has a sanitizing cycle on it and I used it and noticed my hemp lost that yucky smell it used to have, but the pul on some of my FBs has gotten sticky when I stuff them. Does that make sense? So, I guess my question is, can you wash FBs in too hot of water and will that ruin them? I am really enjoying my inserts more now, but don't want to ruin the dipes.

Wow, you're right. It almost sounds like you're melting them!

I have a front loader, too, but it's an older style (2 yo) whirlpool duet without a sanitizing setting. The regular "whitest whites" (aka hot) setting gets my AIOs and pocket trainers clean without a problem.

I was gonna say sounds like you can! Never would have thought that. I've taken lately to once every month or two separating the inserts, wipes, and fitteds from the pockets. The pockets I wash like normal. The other load I wash on HOT with Dawn and/or Sun's Oxywash. Maybe doing that will help.
