My 9 month old isn't a heavy wetter at all but my now 4 year old was. The Thirsties size 2 were bulletproof for us with her. Even at night! I love the Thirsties hemp prefolds. They are the only diaper that has stayed in our stash since we started.

can I ask how you fold your thirsties hemp pre-flats?
I like how fast they dry when detached but not sure how or if there is another way to fold them if they are?

I fold them like a prefold. The size 1 are almost the exact size as a cotton babies regular prefold. So I just jelly roll the legs, bring it up, fold over the rise and boingo it on
