Help me decide medium DR organic cotton or bamboo prefolds?

I'm getting a few diaper rite covers and adding a dozen prefolds. We trifold and my boys wear their covers on the middle settings we have flips, thirsties duos, and grovia. Right now we only use dr LG flats or imagine md cotton prefolds. I keep reading that diaper rite prefolds run a little larger, will mediums be ok in these covers and do you prefer organic cotton or bamboo?

I can take a pic when I get home, my green edge diaper rite prefolds (I have bamboo) are too long on the middle snap to trifold. They are the same as the yellow edge Grovia prefolds for me. This shows various sizes on various snap settings. I like my bamboo DR's, but REALLY love my Grovia ones.

I had the green edge DR bamboo, and you reeeally have to stretch it to fit on the medium setting. It definitely doesn't fit well. DR runs the largest of the PF's in general, and Imagine run the smallest, so I can understand why your Imagine mediums fit fine in your covers. If you are only going to use them for trifolding, I would go with the DR smalls, or get the Imagine medium bamboo if you want the bamboo option. Grovia is an awesome choice too as pp said, for bamboo. I just don't know as much about their sizing To answer your other question, if it were me, I would do the organic cotton over the bamboo as bamboo is technically not a natural fiber and I prefer natural fibers. That's just me though, and you most likely can't go wrong with either!

I have medium Green DR cotton and I really like them but NOT for trifolding in the medium rise. They are way too long to make it work for us. I just got med organic imagines and I love them, they are significantly shorter than the DR green edge unbleached we have.

eta: I contacted Diaper Junction asking what size would be best for trifolding on the medium rise and they recommended the Dr smalls. Said that is what they used for their 26 lber on the medium rise. Hope that helps!

Hmmm maybe I should go with the imagine organic cotton then if dr mediums won't work. My boys are 16 months and 25lbs and have a good fit in medium setting covers so I'm hoping they will pt out of medium prefolds but they will still work if and when we move up to the largest setting in the covers.

Have you tried folding the short way? I find them easier to tri-fold this way. And then you can get them to fit well into M and L covers.

Not long ago I would have said bamboo all the way. But I am liking organic cotton these days. Add Ecover and you will love either of them.

Bamboo are trimmer. I think cotton may dry faster, but I am not sure.

Does trifolding the short way make them super bulky? I think I may be leaning towards the organic cotton since they are on sale and I know I love regular cotton prefolds anyways. And I really want some diaper rite covers so I would rather just get everything I need from diaperjunction and get free shipping.

I don't personally think so, but I would see what others say. I feel like they just sit nicer and fill the space of the covers so well that way. I think they bunch up more the other way. I like having the extra layers there in the middle when folding the short way.

With bamboo, you can fold them over, doubler them over, do whatever, since they are more floppy and trim. But if you are leaning towards the cotton, I would just go for those.

But if you can possibly wait until the holiday sales, they have such fun sales there.
