BW Mamas - Quick Q

I saw a lovely mei tai for sale but not sure of two things:

- my babe is 12 wks - is it good for a babe so small?
- can you wear them facing out?

Thanks!

I wore mine in a MT before 12 weeks nad she was a peanut. AS for facing out you can but my dd HATES it ~ spreads her legs out weird and now she's too big to tuck them in.

i wore my dd in a babyhawk when she was a smaller baby with no problems, i really prefered my ring sling though, the cradle carry is more comfy for them i think. as for wearing outwards, you can when theyre older but it looks very uncomfortable~

Re: BW Mamas - Quick Q

my DH loved the MT & almost always wears him facing out in front. We didn't get our first MT until 5mos. But I don't see why you couldn't with the feet tucked in. Also, when we first started using the MT I put his legs straight down, using the bottom strap as sort of a seat, if that makes any sense. I just didn't want to stretch his legs straight out just yet, but they're so flexible its prolly not really a big deal.

Good luck.

ITA, you can use it no problem. You can figure out a facing out position but mostly mei tais are made for facing in.

Facing out isn't good for babies. It can cause over stimulation and it distributes the weight improperly. I've also heard that it is very bad for hip and spine development.
