What's a reasonable stash amount?

We're only using pockets now during the day (fitteds and wool at night). I've got about 24 but am wondering if I should add 6 more while they are on sale. I just don't want to spend money if I don't need to, but at the same time I'd hate to spend more later when they are not on sale.

I could get by on 24. I would not add more. But I do not want any excess.

Too many diapers drives me crazy too. I just don't want to be stressed about washing and waiting for them to dry.

Also think about if you want more kids, the more you have the less wear each gets so they last longer!!!

Re: What's a reasonable stash amount?

I like to have enough to make it to laundry day and the day past that if I happen to forget to wash the diapers. So however many you go through in that time period...greatly varies between kids.

30 is probably a good number. I always like to prepare for emergencies or unforeseen circumstances, like what if you get sick and have to skip washing for a day?

That's what I am thinking. Also if I go to my mom's and can't wash right away then it would be stressful. Maybe I'll pick up another 6 to round out our stash.

Re: What's a reasonable stash amount?

I wouldn't get any more. I could easily skip a day and be fine with less than that.

We do cloth ft and also TRAVEL with it. I don't get 'buy more so it lasts multiple kids' honestly you are going to want to buy some for each kid..if you want to buy and have it last skip pockets and buy some flats..they will last forever, then you only have to replace covers.

Almost my whole stash.

Re: What's a reasonable stash amount?

We had 24 and found that perfect. I did pick up some prefolds for just in case and to go coverless now and then, but it was a just the right amount
