My kid has that from running OUTSIDE. LOL

My Mood:
I don't mind running, or jumping on the sofa or their own bed. But, my oldest is 22m, so take that for what it's worth haha. If he's near the 7mo he isn't as nuts, and he calms down when I ask him to, but I don't mind him getting the energy out. My house is basically a playground with a couch and a table in the middle of it, so it suits us. When they're older and I have a desire to actually own adult things, maybe I'll care.

Oh, no shoes on the furniture, though. That one we stick to. And home rules don't apply to other places, so there's that.

But no, I don't find that to be anything out of the ordinary. Quite normal IMO.

Well my kids don't do that at other people's houses, but at our house, I don't care.

Re: Am I really that much stricter than other Moms?

Meals at the table are the only of these rules that we have in common. However, the jumping on furniture and such is not allowed while other kids are over.

Running is allowed (although it is more of a skip, hop, fast walk than a true run)
Jumping on the furniture (certain furniture) is allowed
We eat meals at the table but snacks are often "picnic" style
As for throwing things - we have soft balls that are able to be throw in proper receptacles. Like a laundry basket or the small basketball hoop

No screaming
No standing on tables

In general, I am fairly lax about activities but very strict on how the kids treat each other and others. They do understand that people have different rules than us and that we respect their property by respecting their rules.
