Gah Kari that stuff drives me nuts.

Yeah, Jess, you are probably right. The grass is not dead though, and that is something I have never been able to wrap my Texas brain around. Snow melts, and the grass is already green and healthy underneath. I also don't understand how tulips grown in a warm greenhouse can still survive and look pretty when stuck in the ground that is still or at least partially frozen and the temps are close to freezing. IDK. Even after three years here, and three years previously in Chicago, it is still all very foreign to me.

Janine spring is here. I woke up in full allergy mode today. Watery, itchy eyes. Runny nose. Headache. I took some allegra which alleviated the discomfort thank goodness. I do love spring though. I just wish I didn't have allergies!

Jen, I agree with Cheryl. I absolutely hate how many budget cuts are coming from schools when it is probably one of the most important places our money could be going! It is really unfortunate that they are cutting your position, for both you and the kids!

Kari I would be livid and I probably would have left. I think it is really rude for people to be so late. I can understand a few minutes given traffic, etc. but to be so late? Ugh!

Just for perspective, I grew up in a zone 10 area (that's a gardening term). So as early as February, you can stick annuals in the ground and as long as you water them they will likely live year-round. The vincas I planted at our Texas house were still living when we sold it four years later. So it is very weird to me how the plants work here.

I live at an altitude that allows for freezing 365 days of the year, so we plant in hope it doesn't

I think the desert would be the only climate even weirder to me, Jen.

So I have read Pirates Don't Change Diapers to 8YOs and seen the iPad movie presentations from the 3rd and 4th graders, which was hilarious. I will link Rosie's group's movie when it is available. Then Ian and I went to a local roadside garden center and filled the car full of local peat and composted sheep turds. In a bit we will go to Lowes or Home Depot and get the composted cow patties and maybe some worm casings if they have any. Poor guy loading my car asked if he should put a tarp down, and I was like, "Have you seen the inside of my car? I have three kids that eat in there. This will be less mess for me."

Re: Basically it's Friday!

It was a long hard shift at work today. 5 pallets of food to be put away. Wow!

Then I'd hardly gotten through the door and Heiner said he wanted to take me to look at the Galaxy note 10.1 tablet....we went; we got it. I have played with it a bit and chucked a load of apps onto it. I really should leave it alone now. It's not my birthday till the 5th.
