Stinky Wipes Solution

Well, I ventured into the cloth wipes area yesterday and made my own solution from a recipe I got from a momma here - 2 cups filtered water, 2 tbsp baby soap, 2 tbsp olive oil - and my wipes stink. Is there something, like TTO, that I should add, or does the solution just go bad? Help!

Re: Stinky Wipes Solution

It could be the olive oil, it has a pretty distinctive smell. I just use water, lots of babies skin gets irritated by wipes solution no matter how gentle. Someone who uses a wipes solution might have more suggestions, I used one when I first started CDing (different recipe) but quickly switched to plain water. HTH

I'd skip the olive oil. We do water, a drop or 2 of baby wash, and bit of TTO.

You can add TTO for its antibacterial properties (without it, it'll only last a couple of days max before it stinks), and I'd also skip the olive oil (although I do put baby oil in mine.)
