Re: Swaddle or no swaddle

I don't really swaddle, but I loosely swaddle the bottom half of Caleb (like from waist down). he's a very contented baby in general, so I have not felt a need to swaddle him up tight.

my first baby was super high strung and he was swaddled for several months to go to sleep at night.

I use halo sleep sacks that swaddle the arms but not the legs. Not sure when we will quit.

Swaddled DD to 9 months. It was magical.

Re: Swaddle or no swaddle

We swaddle one and a while. I have a few Velcro swaddlers that I like best, but I've been usin Aden & Anais swaddle wrap blankets lately. They're made of lightweight muslin so they're not hot.

I LOVE the one I have - definitely a good $1.99 deal I'm tempted to buy more, but then remind myself that Piper really doesn't need much swaddling. Still love that blanket, though!

We got a 4 pack at Lincoln's shower and I LOVE them. I tell everyone I want to sew a bunch of them together and use them for a blanket for myself! I'm so glad we have them too...Linc and I are going to Texas in June and they'll be light enough to use and still keep some wind off him if we're outside.

Re: Swaddle or no swaddle

Out of six babies, I've had several that tolerated being swaddled, a couple that did not like it, and one (now) who LOVES it. It really depends on the baby. You could try it both ways a couple days in a row and just note the results-- how well and how long does baby sleep each time? Etc. then make your decision.
