I picked Edward; August sounds like a girly name to me Maybe I could go for Agustus though

August..please don't call him Teddy
Teddy is a fabulous name for a boy. Teddy's are really cool and awesome. Not that I have bias.

I think either names fit because they are classic or old fashioned names. My son goes by Teddy but he isn't an Edward.

I was thinking the opposite. I was thinking Teddy sounds cute like Teddy in Little Women. When I think Gus I think a dog or a horse. On one site it comes in at 34 for top 100 dog names.

OP I hope you don't get offended. I don't mean that badly. It is just why I prefer one name choice over the other. I am sure both would be cute for your baby.

No, to me August seems like a very contemporary name and Edward is old fashioned like the others' names. But that's just me.

It sounds like a way more contemporary name than Edward. It's "unusual" and unusual is in.

That's how I see it. But I am realizing that people don't know that and perceive it as new and trendy when they hear it. That concerns me a bit since I'm going for old fashioned not trendy.

Ah, I am still quite torn.

Anywho... so far it's tied... you people are no help!
I googled Teddy for Edward and am surprised! Apparently back in the olden days, this was common with many names, to shorten and move letters around, I actually like that!

I do like August, and I think it fits better with the other boys' names. I like Augustus or Augustin even better though, but I'm probably weird for that.

I don't like Edward or Teddy. Or even really Gus. But I like August.
