Show me your hand dyeds!

I am hand dyeing some bamboo velour tomorrow and want to see some inspiration! This is my first time ever dyeing anything! I'll be doing shaving cream swirls and some low immersion, maybe some ice dyeing too. I am beyond excited but I want to see some of your favorites! Diapers, blankets, wipes, mama cloth, yardage, anything!

I'll be sure to post some photos of our results! I plan to make a blanket and fitteds for DD.

I did some swirl dyes one time. They were Bamboo flats, they came out a bit more marbled, cause I swirled too much.

This is what we did! My sisters helped and did a few as well it was SO fun and I definitely learned a ton and can't wait to do more. I let them sit for 24 hours before rinsing but in the future I will do less as some of the colors bled mainly the blue but I kinda like it

The first I did and my favorite!

Our practice diaper the first to be sewn

Minnie and Mickey swirls ♥

Rainbow swirls on top, random firework things on bottom

An attempt at blob hearts that didn't turn out but still neat!

I can't wait to do more! They are SO cool and a lot of fun to do.

I will find links for technique but basically you prep fabric and then prepare the dye, you can thicken it with shaving cream depending on the look you want. Thin out some shaving cream with water and spread out about an inch thick in a large container (I used a long shallow storage bin). Then drip in your dye and swirl. Lay in fabric and let sit, peel up carefully and cover for 2-24 hours. Rinse and voila!

Re: Show me your hand dyeds!

I usually do blankets, loveys, etc. and have just recently started diapers. So here's some LWI'd diapers:

"Treasure Map" colorway

"Hummingbird" colorway

"Ice Age" colorway

"Girly Punch" colorway

"Pixie Dust" colorway

And some swirl dyed flats for fun!

Once you start dyeing stuff, it's hard to stop.
