Enjoy your birthday Janine! We have a full day outside tomorrow so I may not even get to use the computer until bedtime.

DH needed to go to Lowes to get grass seed patch, so I looked online to see if they had anything interesting on sale. I was perusing through all the plants online, and saw they had knockout roses on clearance for $2.75! I thought, no way. But these are the kind that are wrapped up, stems cut down, not the ones in the buckets already blooming - so maybe the people that would buy knockouts won't buy them that way, and people that buy roses that way won't pay the price that knockouts usually go for. Went to the store, and they had a rack of them but they were still marked full price, no signage for the sale. But they rang up $2.75 each, so I may have bought a dozen . So in addition to everything else we need to do outside tomorrow I need to plant those. Somewhere. For those of you that don't know, knockouts are basically idiot-proof roses, you don't have to do all the PITA maintenance that many other varieties need, but they are kind of 'spensive. I bought two last year at end of season clearance for $7 each.

Doing some laundry here too. Were watching Antony Bourdain on CNN. Now it is nearly time for bed. I hope when we wake in the morning that the new tank setup is dry!

So much cooking, laundry and arranging to do tomorrow. Single parenting for a week coming up!

I am headed to Blacksburg, Virginia for a user roup meeting of one of library's primary technologies. My boss and I are giving a short presentation, and there are all sorts of trainings and meetings and stuff. W are driving down tomorrow and driving back Friday. I should be back by midnight.

New tank setup was dry this morning! Nw the fish is low enough down that E can actually feed him without standing on a chair which sometimes was, sometimes wasn't there.

VTLS. It is their library software proper.

E is outside playing with the neighbours. Ru is setting up stuff in his room, and I am cooking meals for the week ahead and doing laundry. Yes. E is playing outside without us. It feels super weird!

On to my third load of laundry. Ru still working upstairs - she had to pause and run an errand for me, but now she is back at it. Pizza pasta bake done and ready to bake off for supper tomorrow. Hamburger soup now simmering on the stove for Wednesday night. I am cranky and tired.

Re: happy basic Saturday

Hi everyone. I've been running around most of the day. I'm thoroughly exhausted but happy. It's been a fab day!

I've just gotten out of the bath....I was covered in sun-cream. I hate that stuff but I burn really quickly and I was out in the sun all afternoon with the kids.

My sister just posted these photos...I thought you might like it.

He's just adorable!
