Does your baby like the car/car seat?

I'm wondering how many babies actually like riding in the car at this age? Does anyone's baby actually just sleep in the car?

DD1 was fine in the car, but she took a pacifier. DD2 HATED the car until she was 7 months old, and then started tolerating it. She wouldn't take a pacifier, and noting would soothe her. Nova screams when we are in the car. She won't take a pacifier either. I'm wondering if it's just because she is so young or if we are doomed again. It's really not fun when your baby hates the car and the grocery store is 100 miles away. Maybe when she is a little older and more aware of her surroundings she will like it (hopefully).

All of my kids were pretty good in the car. Ds1 would get angry at every red light though. The middle 2 were angels. Harper was decent at first the. Started getting miserable as of late. So I know she likes to be swaddled so atm we are I bumper to bumper traffic and she is in her seat with a blanket tu Jed around her tightly holding her hands and legs in. K ock on wood it is working

If he's upset, the carseat doesn't exactly help.

But if he's happy, he's fine.

He screams when you put him in it. But usually I don't put him in unless he's fed and happy. And he usually calms down quickly.

That's a good idea. Nova likes to be swaddled as well, so maybe I'll try that.

Being fed and happy doesn't matter...as soon as we put her in, she gets upset.

DD1 was like Alie, mostly slept, but when she was done she was DONE. DD2 hated it til closer to 6 months, but never was and still isn't inclined to sleep in the car.

Also summer infant swaddle blankets can be used in car seats

I have a theory that babes may experience carsickness. I hated the car as an infant & a few years later started vomiting on long trips. I still get car sick now. DD1 was ok with car, DD2 mostly hates it...tolerates it now (over 1yr), but she is up high & can see out windows now...

We have a bunch of summer swaddle blankets, but they are too small for Nova now. Maybe there is a larger size...I'll have to check into it.

DS loved the car, and still does. Right now it's the only way we can get DD to calm down sometimes. Just a few minutes in the car and she's out like a light!

I got lucky my dd lives to go. So she's always liked the car rides cause she thinks she's going somewhere great which isn't always the case. Lol! As long as she's going she doesn't care. On long trips she gets antsy but I do to so we stop & stretch. As long as she has a toy & a bottle were good.
