Re: Chat Thread ~May 5th - May 11th

Anyone else having trouble getting insurance for their baby? DH and I each have our own insurance through work. DD1 and DD2 have individual plans for $50/month each. Apparently, children can't get individual plans because of whatever is going on in Congress. They have to be on an adult's insurance plan. To add Nova to mine or Dh's plan, it would be some outrageous amount, like $600/month or something. So, either DH or I will have to get a second insurance (high deductible with low monthly premiums) and add Nova to it. I really dislike insurance.

Im sorry. I keep telling myself that DD was playing on her playmat at 6 weeks. Which means in the next 2 weeks, he might be happier. Just hang in there and hopefully they'll be happy soon.

I keep wondering if it's a food issue with Luke. The 'is your baby getting enough' articles all say that if they are, they will have happy, contented periods. He doesn't. So I stress about supply.

Could those bruises be Mongolian spots?

Our insurance is expensive to add in intervals, like from one person to 2 is a big jump, 2 to 3 not so much, 3 to 4 a jump again, adding Alie was no increase. Would it be cheaper to put you all on one plan? Or add all the kids to one or the other?

If you know they're dry, fed, etc - you just go. It sucks but you do. My sister's #4 screamed in the car until 7 months. Bloody murder. They never found an issue that caused it and there was no solution.
LOL, I do the same thing - talking to her from the front seat, as if she could understand.

I also reach one arm around the back and try to stroke her cheek or hold the paci in.

I'm having trouble with mine right now - total PITA. Unfortunately, she was born during a very awkward transition for Tricare. It's a hot mess and I found out today that my friend didn't scan her SSN card into the system properly, so I have to go back again tomorrow.

LOL not really we have--well I have developed a lot of self control these last 2 yrs but it is so nice to have it there when we need it!!!

Oh and I have the grocery store I love to shop at 5 minutes away too! And some nice farmers markets I need to check out!!!I have to figure out the grocery budget yet again and I really need to get a bulk items system down. I have to also really start making from scratch bc I hate BOXES in my pantry. Not sure why
I have been meaning to say how much I love Auburn!! DS used to be in speech therapy out there. Auburn has some awesome restaurants and stores!

Question. What do you do in the car when baby screams non stop? I just dont know. It stresses me out, but he hates carseat/car
Maybe try some different things on the radio? DS1 would crash about 5 minutes into this woods sound CD - just like water falls and birds chirping. When he was six months old it was Raffi. In between songs he would fuss and the song would start he was silent. He still loves it.
