Finished week 3 day 3 and it wasn't too bad.

Thursday starts 4min runs and I will be running almost 1/2 the session. :-) I'm finally getting into this; I'm looking forward to running now and I like seeing how far I can push.

NotLad - are you rubbing off?? :-)

Re: Couch to 5K anyone?

It's addicting. Not so much the actual running, but that moment when you've finished and you turn around and you've gone further than you've ever gone before. What's great is that today it's four minutes. Soon it will be eight minutes. One day soon it will be ten miles.

I just did week 3 day 1 yesterday and it was easier than I thought!

For those treadmilling it - how fast do you run/walk?

Re: Couch to 5K anyone?

My friend is preparing to do a run soon as well. I recommend slowly building up to it.

This. I started at 0. And can now run a 1/2 marathon with almost no training. Lol! Keep at it ladies!

For the run, you should be working hard enough that you can only get a few words out at a time. Don't sprint, don't push to breathless just yet.

Once you finish the program you can work your way up to breathless running.

I don't go very fast yet, but I am generally a quitter. If I mess up, I'll just stop totally and give up.

I'm walking at 3-3.2 and running between 4.3-4.6. I just upped my walking yesterday. I was doing 2.5 and while the little break was nice to slow down and catch my breath, my heart rate wnt way back down and it seemed like I had to start all over again each time I ran.

Dh told me the most important part first is to DO it, then work on my time after I can actually run the entire 5k. I feel really slow compared to some mamas on here. I think even at week 4, I would pass out at 6mph... lol

I'm not fast. My fastest marathon time is 4:58:47. That's just slightly faster than what you're running now.

My finishers medal is just as shiny as the guy that runs a marathon in 2 hours
