I really wouldn't think anything of it. Stuff happens. I teach nursery school at church and with 10-20 toddlers the last thing I'm looking at is their fly/button, especially at check out. Not that I don't *care* or wouldn't fix it if I noticed, it's just that sometimes things like that get overlooked. Maybe ask the teacher herself?

I'm sorry but I think your overreacting. The teachers probably didn't notice. If she can't manage a button, she should wear leggings or some other easy up bottoms that she can. I know she said she couldn't do them, was this an isolated thing? Have you witnessed her fixing them on her own at home that would cause you to think she could?

Why are you worried about a field trip because your daughter didn't fasten her pants?

Our kindergarten and many local preks sends a school prep letter home. It says that your child must be responsible for themselves. Can't tie laces? Get velcro. Can't button pants? Get elastic. Can't zipper a jacket? Get a pullover. There are too many children and too little time.

No, I'd be alarmed also. Like really, it just makes me about the school. It should've been noticed IMHO and then I think well what else goes unnoticed? KWIM?

Re: My daughter and her unfastened pants

I have been known to 2 two hours without noticing my OWN pants are unbuttoned/unzipped. I would not be at all concerned that a teacher didn't notice, especially if they spend any time sitting at a desk-ie pants not even really visable to teacher.

I think the OP is overreacting.

Thank you all for your replies. I'm over it, but I just want to mention two things. The ratio in Gigi's class is 1:8 and these ladies are trained to care for children. We are all human of course, but I am a bit concerned about what might be missed on a farm if this was missed right under their noses. I am a mom, and my 4 year old is my oldest. Just cut me some slack for being alarmed that my daughter's business was hanging out.

I am willing to go along with the idea that Gigi had just used the lav because that's close to how she described it after I asked. I understand that things are fraught when it's time to go home. It's just that it's my baby... I'm sure you mamas understand.

Seriously, I went to my Mother's church for a program, and didn't realize my fly was completely open (and I was wearing bright purple undies) until my mom told me. I'll never go back.

Haha, I have NEVER caught myself walking around with my fly open. Maybe those days are sadly yet to come?
