When your kids had tummy troubles which diaper did you find to be easiest/ best?

We have a possible stomach bug comming, my parents both had it and we've been around them. I have disposables left from E's baby shower a year ago, and I have some of J's on hand because of an up comming road trip. Diva is boycotting her cloth trainers, she's in paper full time right now. She only uses 1 maybe 2 a day so i
im letting her have control over this.

I'm torn between thinking disposables would be a lot easier if all 3 kids and I am sick. And being horrified at the waste of putting 3 sick kids is disposables. I have every diaper besides (okay a handful) of pockets. My kids have GI issues on a normal basis, J's never had a solid poop in her life.

Use sposies and don't think twice. We just finished a nasty tummy bug and seriously- I don't think I could've managed it in cloth.

I always used sposies with stomach bugs because my boys would get TERRIBLE diaper rash and I needed to be able to slather them with Desitin.

yah stomach bugs = sposie time. If you do use cloth I would suggest something cheap like flats or prefolds where you can bleach the heck out of them when the bug is over.

I like prefolds or prefitteds for tummy bugs. I can bleach the heck out of them, and they do a better job at containing blow outs. Plus, if I need to put something on his bum, I don't worry with prefolds.

There is no way I would personally use sposies with diarrhea. I just don't hate myself enough for that. I've fallen for it before and end up angry and cleaning up sick poopslposions after the first day and go back to cloth. Flats, prefolds, fitteds and a cover are the way to go for me. First of all the cotton soaks up the liquidy part first so it keeps the stuff in and the breathablity prevents rashes. I can use whatever barrier cream I want on them too. Then hot wash and bleach those puppies and not worry about it. I've tried lots of different sposies over the years and I have yet to find one that offers the same dependability when it matters.

I love fitteds/prefitteds. They are good at containing everything.

We just got over a nasty bug - we though sposies were the way to go, but nope - blow out after blow out, so we switched back to our BG Freetimes. SOOOOO much better, the poo was fully contained. I didn't bother spraying the individual diapers, I just ran an extra full wash before my usual wash routine.

I have a mini stash of old worn in cheap prefitteds/workhorses from FSOT that I keep on hand- no blowout and bleachable. But if you use sposies, put a cover over them! I'm imagining a poo geyser up the back :shudder:
