Sunburn at 25 weeks pg?

We are at the beach and dd got a pretty rough sunburn. No blistering or anything, but fairly red.

She has been drinking lots of water, and it isn't exceptionally hot out (about 80). The couple of times she felt really warm when we were by the pool she got in the pool and cooled off.

Is this worrisome?

Re: Sunburn at 25 weeks pg?

I think it will be okay. Just treat like normally would if she wasn't pregnant and drink more water. I got sunburned on accident while pregnant during the summer and everything turned out ok...just uncomfortable for a few days. That's my opinion anyway. When I am in doubt, I go to Google and check out what the medical/pregnancy websites say!

Re: Sunburn at 25 weeks pg?

I got ultra burned at about that same time when I was pg with my now 4yr old. It wasn't my whole body, just the front of my lower legs-not just the shin but from knee to ankle.

Anyway, I didn't blister, but it was the worst burn I have ever had. I looked like I had the legs of a cooked lobster. I was in so much pain i couldnt walk. I realized later that the reason it hurt so much to walk was all the fliuid in the legs both from heeling and from being pregnant, my legs were swelling but the sunburn hurt as the skin stretched.

We were worried so we hit up one of those urgent care places just to be safe. The doc did give me script cream for the pain but said that there really wasn't any concern about the baby. And, she is a normal healthy 4 yr old now.
