Names are usually picked out before conception...but I'm always thinking about names. It's not final until we see the kid though!

Yes they do. I personally would like to just have a couple of names that we like and wait to meet the baby before naming him/her. But dh likes to have the name set and call the baby by that name.

We did tell the first name but not the full name with both girls. If we have a third, I want to keep it a secret. Dh spilled it both times.

My oldest had a full name, then we changed our minds on the middle name. She got a middle name the day after she was born. We told the original name we picked out (even the part we didn't use).

With both boys, we had a whole name before birth. We didn't tell it until they were born.

I like to be able to call them by name. With our third we wanted it to be a surprise but wanted to be able to name him/her so we chose a gender neutral name an two different middle names. It annoyed me as I feel much more bonded to them knowing which gender they are and we won't be team green for our next if I can help it!

Re: Do your babies get fully named in utero?

I wanted to add that with DS, we were team green so we had four names (2 girl, 2 boy) and we told everyone what they were. With DD we were found out that she was a girl so we kept the name to ourselves so we'd have a surprise to reveal. I liked it better not telling the name and will do that in the future if we have more.

Re: Do your babies get fully named in utero?

This is our first, and I'm 20 weeks right now and just found out we're having a girl. We had a girl name picked out when we first started TTC, and then we thought of some others, but we're back to the original (Kjirsten, which is my middle name other than the spelling). The middle name we're iffy about but have a few ideas.

We'd originally had a boy name also picked out, but that one we've had several changes, so I guess it's a good thing we're having a girl.

Yes, but this time barely. I was 37 weeks when we chose the name.

With my first two, we knew we were having girls, so we had their first and middle names picked out long before they were born.
With #3, we didn't find out, so we had 2 boys names and 2 girls names, first and middle, picked out. Once she was born, one look at her and we knew she had to be an Elly. We are doing the same with this baby....
