Cat,

Congratulations!! He's adorable! Sending you lots of healthy baby and healthy Momma vibes and hoping his can come home soon!

As far as the milk supply, don't stress!! Remember, right now you're just producing colostrum in very, very small amounts (completely normal) and it takes an average of 3-5 days for your milk to 'come in'. According to my breastfeeding answer book (LLL) "frequent milk removal in the first week (either through effective breastfeeding or milk expression) increases the number of prolactin receptors in the glandular cells of the breast and the number of these prolactin receptors at least partly determines the total amount of milk the mother is able to produce for this baby." In other words, keep up the pumping, your supply will come! And keep in mind when your milk does come in pumping is not as effective as a nursing baby, so just because you might not pump a lot, it doesn't mean baby's not getting a lot when he does nurse. Forgive me if you already know all of this, just want to see you guys off to a great nursing relationship!

to you and your family!!

Wow, what a story! Sending prayers for a quick recovery for both of you, and congratulations to the whole family. Very soon, you'll all be together at home.

Re: Introducing our newest son ....

He looks great!
He's bigger than my son (5lbs 4 oz), who was born at 36 weeks and had the fluid in his lungs, etc, etc just like your son. He was in the NICU for 4 days and was able to come home with me when I was discharged from my c-section.
He did remarkably well and I'm sure your son will do awesome too!
Congrats and enjoy your baby-moon! He's a beauty!!

Congratulations! I LOVE the name Adrian!

Sorry about his breathing troubles and MIL's wacked behavior. I hope the fluid gets absorbed quickly so that you can all enjoy each other at home!
