First birthday

For a first birthday, when the guests are all family and older kids, do you need to do like gift bags? Wee doing a ONEderland theme for my daughter (I'm still tickled every singe time I think about it) but I dunno if I need favors. Do I? Any other etiquette I need to know for a first birthday? My oldest a was such a disaster (our families don't get along at ALL) that we didn't bother with our middle. Bt we've since kinda smoothed things over...well, we've basically said "grow up and come or don't. We don't really care."

I don't do gift bags for any age, ever, and I hate getting them because it's always junk that breaks or is dangerous for LO's like tiny toy balls and latex balloons, etc.

I think it's up to you. You can always do a piñata and let them take some candy home in a goody bag. DS1 had a batman themed party last year and we did batman stickers, batman tattoos, a batman notebook, batman pencils and batman markers. Idk how old the older kids are, but the ones we had enjoyed drawing in the notebooks.

I think since art of the decor is gonna be cute little tea cups I'll just let the women take those home. I know the men will complain about them, bu ti surely don't want them. The just fit the theme and would get donated back to the hospice center. So I think I'll do that. Thanks ladies!

I don't do gift bags either. I find it's usually just extra "stuff" that people don't really need/want. I just try to throw a good party!
