Re: Favorite recipes using ground turkey, please?

Put diced yellow onion and shredded carrot into a pan with grape seed oil and cook until translucent. Add ground turkey and pressed garlic cloves along with oregano, salt, and pepper and cook meat. Meanwhile, mix tomato paste with water (usually one can with one cup water for 2 lbs. meat) and then pour over meat mixture in pan. Stir until combined and cook for a few minutes. Serve on buns for turkey sloppy joe. Put over lettuce with black beans, corn, and homemade guacamole for taco salad. Add some pure maple syrup for sloppy joe mixture to give it a different dimension (sounds weird, but it takes great! Not a ton, either...maybe 1 tbsp. for an amount that would serve 4 sloppy joes). You could do a million things with it...we love it!

We use ground turkey for everything instead of beef. For burgers we do the package of meat with an egg, some bread crumbs and seasoning. Sometimes we put cheese or onions in the mix. We so make chili with ground turkey, pasta dishes even pizza.

Turkey Sloppy Joes are yummy. I saute shredded green and red peppers, celery, carrots, onions and garlic, then add the turkey and let it brown a bit. Throw it in a crock pot with tomato paste and diced tomatoes, Worcestershire, Montreal Grill Seasoning and molasses and let it simmer until dinner.

DH "invented" something he calls Thanksgiving Loaf - much like meatloaf but it uses ground turkey, and stuffing mix instead of bread crumbs. He adds some craisins to the mixture and spreads cranberry sauce on the top for the last 20 minutes of baking. I like it much better than normal meatloaf.

Mini meatballs for Italian Wedding Soup - or anything else you use meatballs for.

Season it to make turkey breakfast sausage.

Chili.

My DH usually hates ground turkey, but I can get him to eat stuffed green peppers with brown rice and ground turkey. My boys love it too. I have also made a turkey Mexican or southwest meatloaf with some jalepenos, black beans, and corn. I just threw it all together and didn't use a recipe.

I haven't tried it, but I would make Texas Hash with turkey if I had it in the house.

Re: Favorite recipes using ground turkey, please?

Here's another ground turkey option that is very yummy: http://howtofeedahenry.blogspot.com/...-serves-6.html.

For turkey burgers, we always add olive oil to help the patty stay together and stay juicy. I also mix in herbs like ground rosemary, chopped onions or grated cheese to help boost the flavor. It will not taste the same as a beef burger, but a turkey burger can be good in its own right.

I like to brown it and cook elbow noodles. Mix both in a casserole dish. Add diced cubes of cheddar or other cheeses and/or shredded cheeses. Salt, Pepper, add chopped cherry tomatoes and Fill dish 3/4 with milk. Bake covered in foil at 350 for 45 minutes, brown top another 15 minutes before serving.
Mac and Cheeseburger casserole. A little ketchup or hot sauce on top is pretty good

Pesto Turkey Meatballs--GF

1/2 lb ground turkey (or ground chicken)
1 egg white
3 Tbs prepared pesto--from the store or homemade
1/8-1/4 Cup cornmeal--enough for the consistency to be right

Cook in marinara sauce. Great with pasta or as a meatball sub.
