We qualify for reduced price lunches and it makes a HUGE difference!

My kids get it free, we never even applied. I guess they get a list of who is on assistance from the county. My son (high school) kept saying the lunch ladies loved him bc his dad had only put a certain amount on his card (they don't take cash, it's a credit system) and he never ran out. Then we found out it was bc they get free lunch. It's odd bc they go by me being on assistance but we have joint and they use their dads address and he's loaded. But even if they wanted to pay for lunch the system wouldn't let them
