What's the going rate for the tooth fairy?

DD lost her first tooth today. I posted her cute little snaggletoothed face on Facebook earlier and apparently the going rate is a lot higher than I thought! My niece got $20 for her first a couple days ago.

So what's the tooth fairy bring at your house?

We plan on doing a gold dollar coin each. My kids think its pirate treasure! Dd can't wait to start loosing teeth neither can ds but he's only three. No way am I going to give my kids that much money, they would buy way to much candy with it, and we buy everything they need and most of what they want for brays and Xmas.

I got $5 tooth as a kid, so I figure $10-$20 a tooth now a day. Even $5 is still enough to buy a small toy or an ice cream.

We do a big toy for the first tooth. Then $10 for each other tooth.

I always got $5, SO always got cool old coins. Were probably going to go with the coin idea.

We do $1 if the tooth is brushed and clean, no cavities. My kids are happy to get their $1 too. I don't think more money is a good thing because the kids are going to expect more every time a tooth falls out..lol
