I know, my husband is nagging me to file with paypal. This has pretty much killed co-ops for me, I think I'd rather pay retail than deal with this again!! Haha

Re: Need help with a co-op

Can you post publicly asking for the co-op fee to be returned since you are not taking part in the co-op and it had not yet closed?

She should not be keeping the $3

If there is someone over the FB group, I'd copy and paste them what she sent you.

A bad host can ruin much more than just a single co-op...

I can't because she banned me from the group. She didn't even mention she was keeping the co-op fee, I just noticed the refund was $3 short and that's how much the fee was for the buy. I guess I could understand if I flaked after it was submitted, but she hasn't even submitted the order and there were no minimums to meet or anything. She just did it to be a jerk, and then basically treated me like I was a dirtbag for wanting to leave.

If you know anyone in the group have them post the request for you or pm her starting she accidentally shorted you three bucks and when can you expect it? If it shows she read it and doesn't respond within 24 hrs, file with pp

I don't know anyone in the group, and I have a feeling if I had someone do that, everyone would get nasty. Thats what happened when people started complaining about getting the wrong sunglasses, people came out if the woodwork to be nasty.

Do you guys think I should file with paypal for the co-op fee?

I think you should as she isn't being honest. No need to pay her for being dishonest.

This sort of thing makes me so so mad. Hosts like that are what make everyone nervous about co-ops!!!

For situations where you drop after closing or fail to pay shipping, I am completely on board with keeping the fee. But you dropped well before closing.

I would file

I guess you are right. I will file. I feel silly filing over $3 but you know what, there was no reason for her to treat me the way she did. I was pleasant and polite with her, I patiently waited without contacting her for 3 days even after she told me she would refund me that night. I was never rude to her when I pmed her. Its just not right how she is running buys and that's why I wanted to leave the group in the first place.

Thank you for talking me through this. I can't help but feel guilty for probably messing up other people's payments, but maybe this will be a lesson to her on how to treat people participating in her buys. I hope so, anyways. Thanks again.
