Do morning diapers always stink?

OK, I guess it just comes with the territory. I know that pee that has been sitting for a long time just plain reeks! I am a nurse and whenever I have to empty a catheter bag with pee that has been sitting for 12 hours I could nearly puke. And that is in a closed system with absolutely no air! Thanks for all your input. Anyone have morning diapers that don't smell???!

My DD always smells like a urinal first thing in the morning.

GOsh, dd's don't stink? I mean once it smelt stinky like mildew and then I knew that the overnight hemp doubler did not dry fast enough...it always takes forever to dry.

Her diapers in the morning don't always smell, but sometimes they have a faint smell of old pee (well, they did sleep in that diaper aaaaalll night long!)

Mine don't smell, but it's been my experience that DS doesn't actually pee in his dipe until morning. That's why he's a heavy wetter -- it all comes out at once! So it's not like his pee has been in the diaper all night. Sorry for being the odd woman out!

Back when he was smaller and still peed during the night, I found that sometimes the morning dipe smelled like urine, but I much preferred that to the scent the Pampers sposies get when I used them overnight. It was this horrible cloying scent that was just icky! But if the smell of his CDs in the morning made my nose burn...then that was a sign to strip.

Hemp+concentrated urine=stink. It's always going to be a bit smelly with hemp. But like all the other PP's have said, if it's so strong you have to turn away, STRIP!

I used to have nasty stink in the morning and thought that was just part of CDing because I tried all kinds of wash routines to get rid of it and nothing worked. Then some mammas on DiaperPin said recommended using MORE detergent and HOT water!
I tried it and I have not had one stinky morning dipe for 3 months!!!! I also added and extra rise just to make sure all the detergent was out.
We have very happy noses around here!!

Hmm, dd's don't. We've not had any real stink issues.
