Seriously thinking of just giving up!

Well DS broke out again today just from the polyester in his swim trunk shorts I was trying as a cover.

I'm just so tired of it all.

He's just such a sensitive skin kid it seems.

Our fitteds work GREAT but our wool all wicks when he's being worn, which is ALL the time.

Our ZZ's he reacts too because they are PUL & Fleece and he's allergic to both.

Our fruit diapers and other AIO's are the same.

PF's are GREAT.

But none of the fitteds or PF's work if we don't have covers to use over them.

We have 14 BP just sitting here that wick & that he is allergic to also.

He's worn 4 sposies today and while he still gets red from them it's not as bad as his allergic reaction.

But I just know it's so much better for him if I can keep CDing, our fitteds are all organic which is a million times better than sposies.

I guess I just had to vent. I'm tired and so tired of knowing I've spent ALL this $$ on stuff that doesn't work that I end up losing on when I sell.

ahhhhhhh Amy that sucks! I know my sister is allergic to fleece and what not I'll ask my mom what she used to Cd her if you like.
(also you wont lose too much money if you sell to ME, seeing as i'm in Canada too! )

Aww mama, how frustrating! I'm sitting here wishing I had some suggestions for you. Goodness! *hug*

I thought I saw (in California where my mom lives) that some lady was making diaper covers that are leather? She does something to them where they dont get soaked through. Man, wish I remember where I saw her stuff. I'll have to ask my mom later.

I know it's tough to think about, but if going to disposables is going to somehow eliviate some stress and prevent bad reactions (or at least, REALLY bad ones) then I say just go with it, you know? Sometimes things dont work out the way we like, but at the end of the day, you HAVE to do what is best for your child and your family. Even if that means compromising your original plans.

Whatever happens, we're all here for ya! Vent away

Have you ever tried the Disnana organic wool? It seems more heavy duty.

Well, I would sell off everything he can't use and use those funds to buy things he can. If nothing else, he can go coverless around home and only wear disposables when you go out, etc.

The main thing is to keep him comfortable and happy. Be that in cloth or disposables.

ETA: You might try Disana, we LOVED our cover from there. Jack outgrew it already. When they are felted, they are BULLETPROOF!

We don't vaccinate, we kept our sons intact, we use cloth diapers, we co-sleep, we extended RF, we breastfeed, but we watch too much tv and I totally dig plastic! Everyone has their issues, lol.

Re: Seriously thinking of just giving up!

That stinks! Maybe you can do cloth part time? Let him go coverless in the house, but put a sposie on him when you are BW-ing? I'd hold on to the wool though, b/c I am betting that once he gets more mobile he is going to want to go adventuring and be worn less! In that case, you won't be having the compression issues. You could still put him in breathable stuff overnight when he is in the dipe for the longest too. Good luck figuring it out!

Re: Seriously thinking of just giving up!

Have you tried cottonwraps? They are lined in 100% cotton and its the outer part thats waterproof. Can he use nylon like the dappi pull-ons? Good luck finding something that works. I find 2 layer jersey covers work better for me then knitted wool.
