clogged milk duct?

OK, I have had a clogged milk duct before but yesterday I felt a lump, I tried everything for messaging, squeezing, hot shower, hot pack, hot pad, my hubby messaging & squeezing while I nurse & not nurse, pumping but this lump will not go away & it's very painful!!! It got a little smaller though. My baby doesn't want to nurse on that side because nothing is coming out. I don't know what to do & I'm afraid it will get worse - I don't want mathsitis! Any suggestions?

Just keep up at trying to massage it out. You do not want mastitis you are right.

Also keep doing all of the other things. Nursing, pumping,...

I had my husband massage it when I was under the hot shower. It hurt so bad but it finally broke loose.

I'll be thinking of you mama.

Re: clogged milk duct?

Keep working it and trying to get your LO to nurse. Make sure you are massaging all the way from your armpit down. Take ibuprofen to help with the pain/swelling. After you have nursed/pumped as much as possible you can apply cool to help with the swelling. Try going bra-less if possible, avoid underwires.
