Eliminating dairy: my supply is tanking!

I don't know if it coincidence or not, but for the first time in many months my supply is decreasing. I've had some feeding sessions where there was nothing to eat for baby! (6 mo) My husband says that a couple of times he was feeding baby, the milk in the bottlehardly had any fat on it!
I cut out dairy about two weeks ago. All of it. Plus caffeine, chocolate, acidic foods like tomatoes and citrus.
Did this happen for you? Is it a know side effect?
I'm trying to eat other fats - soy products, nuts, oils, flaxseed, some meats. What else?

Yes. are you getting enough fats and proteins? You can totally nurse a baby without eating dairy (I've done it several times, and have friends who have done also), but you need to make sure that you get enough calories and fat from other sources.

--Coconut oil
--Flax products
--Coconut milk with all the cream
--Butter, if you can tolerate that
--Olive oil
--Beef, lamb, shellfish, pork, etc. (not lean)
--Green leafy veggies
--Lots of fruits and veggies from the whole color spectrum
--Nuts: almonds, walnuts, pecans, brazil nuts, etc.
--Seeds: pumpkin, sunflower, chia, etc.

Basically, just make sure everything you eat is nutrient dense, and that you are drinking enough fluids. Let your baby nurse as often as you can get him to. Try skin-to-skin as frequently as possible. If you can, sleep with your baby for naps and/or at night.

My personal experience with soy was that my milk took a dive when I ate much of it. I pretty much stay away from it now. Hopefully, that isn't the case with you.

I have been dairy/egg/nut/caffeine free for 4 months now due to my sons food intolerances. All of the food suggestions above are great. I also like hummus, very filling. Oatmeal is great for milk supply. I am going to see my primary care doctor and get a blood draw to see if I am deficient in any vitamins or minerals.
