How to clean used wool?

I just bought my first wool cover (used) and I'm wondering how I go about cleaning it for use? Any suggestions?

I handwash and lanolize them just like normal. I use the diaperpin tutorial. http://www.diaperpincorner.com/2007/...lanolize-wool/

I hand or machine wash with Dawn or Tide then relanolize.
