I weaned my son at 6.5 months. He's 9 months now and I'd like to start breast feeding again. I know it's possible, and I still have a smidge of milk (if I try and express). I am wondering how I go about this?

I initially weaned because after a hospital visit in January, I think my milk didn't contain enough fat he literally nursed every 2 hours for months. It's was draining and the lack of sleep was overwhelming.

What all do I need to do, any advice?

Re: Restarting Breastfeeding

Well, I guess the first thing would be to try to put the baby to the breast and see if he'll nurse after months of bottles. It may be a bit frustrating becauese you don't have much milk, but if you can get him to try and nurse it will tell your body that it needs to be making milk.

I know there are some meds you can try if you want to go that route. And there is pumping if that is something you want to do. I know that wore you out last time. But the more you tell your body to make millk the more it will make.
