Part-time NB stash

We only plan to do NB part-time because we had a lot of disposables given to us and are probably going to get more. I was planning to not do NB cloth at all and then changed my mind. I decided to get 12 prefolds, 4 covers (hand-washing covers if needed), and 2 AIOs and wash every day and just use disposables when all the prefolds were dirty. Now I'm thinking about getting 24 prefolds and 6 covers because it's only $25 more. Do you think it's a good idea?

Yes! Newborns go through diapers so fast. And you can use the pf's for burp rags, changing pads, naked time, etc.

I would and try and avoid getting more newborn sposies diapers. Often you can return unopened packs of diapers, you can def size up but you also might be able to get a bru, walmart, target, gift card if you return them as well.

Something to consider though is you and your personality. do you think you will use prefolds that might be a touch more difficult then the sposies when you are sleep deprived...

I think you can get away with 4 covers. Also get fitteds for night time if you can.

Re: Part-time NB stash

My 2nd went through diapers like crazy at the newborn stage. I had 12 Kissas and 3 BG newborn and it wasn't enough for the day. I would get more.

Re: Part-time NB stash

Or, contrary to most other posts, 24 prefold and 6 cover may just enable you to use NB diapers full time assuming you actually do wash them every day. I diapered my NB full time with flats and washed every day. I had 18 flats.
I was barely tired after this NB tho...with my first I was more tired for a few weeks and having only 18 diapers wouldve been pushin it big time lol

I think it's a fine idea. Even if you don't need all the prefolds for diapering, they will be handy for wiping up spitup, drool, spills, etc.
We've never used prefolds as diapers, but I still keep a few around to use as changing pads. They're very versatile!

At that price go for it! You may find you really prefer cloth to sposies as they contain newbie pooplosions so much better!
