Help us pick a place to live!

okay so this is seriously in the future but we do like to plan ahead Here is what we want...

*minimal or non existent humidity, I loved on the central coast in CA and loved that windy coastal weather
*no place with a HUGE amount of snow. I can't handle severe and long winters so in other words, Chicago is out! LOL
*no place that is bone dry and steaming hot constantly. I lived in Tuscon when I was younger and that was too deserty (if that is a word)
*a place that is diverse with races/ethnicities. where we currently live is okay as it is a University town. the largest minority is 11% of the population and there are many minority groups represented but i would love an even more diverse community.
*a town of at least 100,000. I dont do way out in the middle of nowhere and you have to drive 2 hours to get to a gas station
*suburb or slightly rural living. we dont do urban or city living. We would like a backyard, garden option, etc not a concrete jungle
*place with a lot of opportunity for outdoor activity. My husband does off roading. We do camping, hiking, biking, etc as a family
*friendly to private schooling or homeschooling
*family friendly as we have four small kids
*options for gun rights/conceal carry **this isn't an opportunity to debate our opinion on this thread. thanks in advance for not hijacking this thread.

Boise, ID would fit most of that. Though we live the eastern side of the state, thus we live there.

Re: Help us pick a place to live!

Denver/Denver Suburbs fit everything on your list. (People often think it's super snowy but it's not. We get a good snow storm now and then but it's usually melted in a day or two. More often we just get light dustings. We have occasional 50 something degree days throughout the winter that feel downright warm at the time! And it's almost always sunny, even if it's snowy.)

Yeah, I was going to say Boulder. I don't know about the gun thing, though.

Re: Help us pick a place to live!

ok so you like the coast right? Would you consider the east coast?

NC has some beautiful beach areas and Islands If you do not want to be to far south VA and MD have nice beach areas too but it still gets pretty cold in MD imo.
