homemade laundry detergent, soap alternatives
Every recipe I come across uses zotes, fels naptha, or a bar of Dr. Bronners. All of those agrivate the hubs skin condition, even if I leave the borox out. What other soaps can be used instead?

Re: homemade laundry detergent, soap alternatives
I'm pretty sure you can use any bar soap. I've seen recipes using ivory...

Re: homemade laundry detergent, soap alternatives
I make my own soap (that all my family can use), grate it super thin, mix with baking soda and add a scoop to our laundry. We're super simple and it cleans well.

Re: homemade laundry detergent, soap alternatives
The only soaps he can use have to be fragrance free, dye free, antibiotic; a very hard combo to find. Most, if not all, soap manufacturers add either scents or dyes to their soaps. When I can find one that meets all three criteria, it is very expensive and I dread grinding it up for laundry detergent. Combined w/ the cost of the other ingredients, I may as well use Tide cost wise.
Edit: also lotion/moisturizer free

So no borax either? We use this soapless detergent recipe and it's been working great, but contains borax;
http://barefootmommy.blogspot.com/20...7903605761&m=1 Maybe you could alter it?

Re: homemade laundry detergent, soap alternatives
We've used this laundry detergent recipe with great success. I know she's tried many different soaps and said they work well.

Re: homemade laundry detergent, soap alternatives
Does your powder recipe contain washing soda? I found that when I used that in my recipe, our eczema flared up. I swapped it out for baking soda, eczema went away. I also add oxyclean to boost cleaning and that worked well for us too.
