Elliot, Brooks, River, Mallory...
Those are all names we considered before naming DD2 Delaney Cannon. DD1 is Aubrey Maddox.

Re: Name my new DD!

If Atticus had been a girl we would have named her Salem. I absolutely love the name Salem. And our daughter is named Brodie which is a boys name.

Other names we 'liked' but didnt love were : harper ( before it became popular) and Ellis (pronounced Eh-liss not Elise which is a girl's name)

I really like Emersyn/Emerson but we went with another name...I know that doesn't go with the not liking the "n" ending...just throwing it out there.

Elliot is a girls name now too? Had no idea when I named my ds2 that. Here are my favorite girl names, although I'm not sure they really fit your criteria, but you might like one, who knows

Ainsley, Flannery, Piper, Stella, Coraline.

Of those I think Piper fits your criteria best, but is probably getting a huge popularity bump because of OITNB.

Someone mentioned Marley and I wanted to point out the spelling Marlee, which is actually quite common (actress Marlee Matlin).

Also, you seem to like names with x in them, and I was wondering if Xavier could be a girls name, idk?

DD is 3.5 & we named her Elliott. It's a family name (DP's aunt died as a toddler & her middle name was Elliott...which was inevitably a family surname before that), but we had feared that people would associate it with Sarah Chalke's character on Scrubs. I've now heard of a few little girl Elliots of different spellings & it's a frequent suggestion on threads like this looking for GN names. I think Elliott is a nice GN option, but DD goes by Ellie at least half the time & that's just fine for a little girl, too.

DH got Elliot from the show Scrubs so he's liked that name for years. I never went for it though.
