Waterbirth mamas....which tub

My midwife has two pools to choose from and I can go ahead and reserve whichever one I want. This is my first homebirth and and waterbirth. I am so excited!

The first one is like the aqua doula - heat-regulating and I think they said something about it having a pump to drain it too.

The second one is more like this - inflated sides & bottom and handles. I'm not sure if hers has a seat though.

The 2nd one is the one my hospital had and I liked it pretty well, though I have nothing else to compare it to. It was nice and deep, and I liked the handles. I thought it was pretty comfortable, and it seemed like it maintained the water temp pretty well. I'm planning on using it again for my 7th child and 2nd water birth :-)

How exciting, home water births are the best (had them with both DS and DD2)! Out of the 2 the second looks like it would be more comfy and the handles seem like a good option too

I have experience with both- I would strongly recommend the second one! I think it's more comfortable for mamas and better suited for different positions. The first one the sides can be more flimsy and not great for draping your arms over. I think the inflatable one is a little bigger too! A submersible pump can be used to empty both, so I wouldn't worry about that.

The AquaDoula is a little roomier and has the heating element.
The La Bassine is squisher, has handles, and has a squishy bottom?

I think I'm leaning towards the La Bassine.

I ended up ordering the fishy pool fop our water birth. The bottom inflated and it was really comfortable.
